The collection “Parrots” depicts eight different birds;
all -but one- are parrots!
The technique used was embossed underpainting and watercolour pigments in an effort to immitate the shapes and colours of semiprecious stones of the pietra-dura artifacts that have adorned the Italian Renaissance halls. A simple ring of glass beads bonds the egg to a matching green urchin shell, keepsakes of my childhood’s seashore adventures.
